Public Art Initiative (PAI)

About PAI

Public Art Initiative (PAI) began in 2012, founded by Roger Dolin of Mural Environments.

The Museum SFV and its PAI program offer opportunities for artists, beginning to seasoned to  promote their work, offer opportunities to teach and give back to the arts community in the valley.

Current artists offer expertise in areas such as: fine artists, muralists, sculptors, water color artists, arts & crafts and jewelry.  The Museum SFV and the Public Art Initiative are very appreciative to have solid relationships and support from artists such as:

Charles Sherman

Barbara Katz Bierman

Volly Aronson

Anne Bowman

Levi Ponce

Christine Douglass

The number of art galleries in the San Fernando Valley has dwindled and can practically be counted on one hand.  The Museum SFV has worked hard to open up to all art organizations in the valley and has a long-standing alliance with the San Fernando Valley Art & Cultural Center (SFVACC). Former Museum SFV board member Carolyn Uhri heads up the SFVACC.

The PAI, over the years, has had dozens of valley-based artists showcase their work via:

Artist Speaker Series

Spring Showcase; Fall Valley Art Fair and Holiday Art Event

Years ago, PAI expanded program where members Maryley Carrillo assisted in the creation of the Pacoima Mural Mile Walking Tour.

Muralists Levi Ponce, Manny Velasquez, Kathy Sandoval led the initial tours to the delight of all attendees. Each of their amazing community mural projects are on display on Van Nuys Blvd. in Pacoima.

The PAI is seeking more members, more artists on a regular basis.  To become a PAI member, learn more about the PAI, register to showcase your artwork at an upcoming showcase event, please contact:
