The Museum SFV now resides of the historic grounds of a portion of Rancho Cordillera del Norte on the southwest corner of Nordhoff St. and Wilbur Ave. Much of our new programming will be offered outdoors. This will offer one of the finest cultural destinations in the San Fernando Valley for Museum members, donors and visitors to learn and enjoy. In fall of 2021 and into 2022 and beyond, there will be regular speaker events, special events including jazz concert series and multi-cultural events and activities.
The Museum SFV will strive to have tickets available online and offered for advance purchase. There will be opportunities to pay onsite and walk-up for certain events and activities.
The Museum SFV and Rancho Cordillera del Norte Foundation have created and produce diverse events to educate Museum members, donors, students and the general public on the culture of the valley. The shared goal is to offer The Museum SFV section of The Rancho as a cultural destination. The following annual events, with growth in attendance each year, are meeting these event and educational goals.
February - Black History Month (11:00am - 4:00pm)
April - Renaissance Book Faire (11:00am - 4:00pm)
May - Pan-Asian Festival (3rd Sunday; 11:00 am - 5:00 pm)
May - Spring Artist Showcase
September/ Fall Artist Showcase and Family Fun Festival; Latin Heritage Day
October - Trunk or Treat (10/31 this year; fun for the entire family!)
Additional cultural events are being planned.
The Museum SFV and its Public Art Initiative (PAI) normally offer annual spring (May) and fall (Sept.) and holiday (Dec.) artist showcases and special project programs. PAI members, Valley-based artists, have an opportunity to showcase their creative and artistic talents at these shows. There is an artist participation fee upfront and depending on the program, a shared revenue on the back end, or a combination. The general public truly enjoy these events and programs while supporting local artists.
For events that will be held on the weekends, The Museum SFV will have visitors parking across the street at 18860 Nordhoff St. in the south portion of the parking lot. ADA parking, with proper identification, will be offered inside the white gates at 9015 Wilbur Ave. main entrance to the Rancho and parking will be in marked ADA parking spots. Depending on the day, time, other events and activities going on at The Rancho, there may be additional parking inside of The Rancho. Please be respectful to all tenants of the commercial building across the street and for the neighbors next to The Rancho regarding dust and noise. Please contact The Museum SFV at 818-347-9665 or TheMuseumSFV@gmail.com to inquire about regular or special parking needs.
For smaller events that may be held during the week, parking instructions will be associated with each one, on flyers, website and blog.
The Museum SFV now offers special events such as birthday and anniversary parties and corporate and organization gatherings and team building activities on its portion of The Rancho. Customized events with guest speakers, performances and catered food are all available at rates lower than other venues in the valley.
